QUOTES

Jesus (7-2 BC - 30-33 AD) lived for about 33 years during the first century AD; Christianity was founded on his teachings and life. According to church doctrines, Jesus was proclaimed as the expected "Messiah". The word “Messiah” comes from a Hebrew word meaning “the anointed one” or “the chosen one” and the word "Christ" comes from the Greek word "Xristos" with the same meaning.

Jesus was sentenced to death by a Jewish court, a decision executed by the Roman authorities. According to the testimonies of his Apostles, after his crucifixion and burial he was resurrected and ascended to heaven, asking them to spread his teaching throughout the world.
