Biography
Charles Kofi Amankwaa Mann (1936–2018), known as C.K. Mann, was a musician and producer from Ghana whose music career spanned for four decades. Born on the Cape Coast in Central Ghana and worked as a sailor for a while before starting his music career.
He was a member of various highlife bands, a genre of music that originated in present-day Ghana in the 19th century during British colonial rule, and is a fusion of African rhythms and western melodic jazz.
He became very successful in 1969 when he released his single "Edina Benya" and since then he was one of the most famous musicians in Ghana, winning many awards. He died at a hospital in Takoradi, Ghana on March 20, 2018.
